My current reference texts

I started on "Lecture notes on Medical Microbiology" - a simple book, but for me this was a good place to start!

1) Greenwood is the standard learners text for microbiology. I purchased my copy from Tesco by redeeming my shopping vouchers and it was free delivery, so got it fairly cheaply.

2) Mandell is the "bible" of microbiology. Good as a reference book but pricey @ ~£300. Access to the website is via www.ppidonline.com. The website is updated regularly with up to date research.

3) www.nejm.com is always a good choice. The backdoor is here.

4) The 16th edition of Harrisons online. Again the backdoor is here.

5) Don't forget UpToDate, CDC & HPA.
