Incubation Periods
Here are the incubation periods of some common viruses:
- Hep A: 30 days
- Hep B: 60-90 days
- Hep C: 6-7 weeks
- Hep E: 40 days
- HSV 1/2: 2- 7 days
- VZV: 14-21 days
- infectious from 2 days before to the point at which all of the leisons have crusted over and no new leisons form.
- EBV(HHV-4):
- Parvo B19: 13-18 days
- 10 days pre to the onset of the rash
- Picornaviruses (e.g. polio, coxsackie, echo): 3-5 days
- Calcivirus (e.g. noro): 1-2 days
- Flu A:
- viral shedding from 1 day before to 8-10 days after onset of Sx
- Rhinovirus: 2 days
- Coronaviruses: 3 days
- Measles: 9 days
- Rubella :1-2 weeks
- Infectious from 7 days pre to 10 days post onset of rash
- Arboviruses: 4-7 days
- Hantavirus: 2-4 weeks
- Arenaviruses (cause LCM <
>): 6-14 days - Filovirus (ebola): 4-16 days
