Today, I went to Colindale for a symposium on antimicrobial resistance testing. The lectures were as follows:
- Lecture I: Resistance and pan-resistance in Acinetobacter spp.
- Lecture II: Clinical challenges posed by multi-drug resistant Gram negative Non Fermenters
- Lecture III: Rapid direct sensitivity testing of positive blood cultures with Gram negative bacilli (using the 6 Etest® strip method)
- Lecture IV: Clinical importance of suseptibilty testing of anaerobes and metronidazole resistance with an update on Clostridium difficle 027
- Lecture V: Using of anti-fungal Etest® strips in the assess of fungal isolate susceptibilities
